About visa

All foreign nationals are required to have entry visas to travel to the Russian Federation.

The hotel Aurora offers visa support for foreign guests.

A Russian visa is a passport-sized paper document; nothing gets stamped in your passport at the time of writing, though there are discussions about changing over to stamps in the future. A visa lists entry/exit dates, your passport number, any children traveling with you, and visa type. It’s an exit permit too, so if you lose it, leaving the country can be harder than getting in. Russian entry visas can be obtained at local Russian Embassy or Consulate, proper authorization (invitation) from the Passport and Visa Department (UVIR) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs or specially authorized travel agencies is required.

The following information needed for getting a visa support:

  • Passport  copy (by fax or e-mail)

  • Dates of entry/exit into/from Russia
  • Cities you are going to visit in Russia

Invitation would be prepared and send you by fax or e-mail same or next business day, the cost is 20 euros.  Upon receipt of your visa support, you may apply for a visa at any Russian Embassy or Consulate worldwide.
